A few days before this session, Auckland weather had been unpredictable with heavy rain and stormy skies. But on the day of the shoot, everything came together perfectly. The Chavez family had travelled all the way from the Philippines to spend precious time with their loved ones here in New Zealand. They wanted to capture meaningful memories together while visiting Auckland — and a sunset beach photoshoot was the perfect way to do it.

As an Auckland family photographer, my favourite moments are often the unplanned ones. Little brother D excitedly searched for pebbles and beach treasures while happily getting covered in sand, while big brother C explored the water’s edge leaving footprints along the shoreline.
The rocky areas revealed during low tide also created a beautiful setting for mum R and dad C to enjoy a few relaxed couple portraits together. These quieter moments added depth to the session — celebrating not only their children, but also their journey as a family.
